Safeguarding

 We are extremely proud of our safeguarding procedures and as such you can rest assured that all staff placed by us will meet the standards and requirements laid down by the DCSF.

 
Our vetting criteria includes:
 
·         Face to face interview
·         Providing each candidate with a new Enhanced CRB disclosure which includes List 99 check. The only exception to this is where their previous CRB was carried out by Cornwall Council and there have been no gaps in employment of three months or more.
·         ID check
·         Qualification check
·         GTC registration check (teachers)
·         Receipt of two good references (from employers in the last two years)
·         Medical Declaration
 
 
 
Other elements of SupplyNet safeguarding include:
 
 
·         As soon as a placement is confirmed we email schools with all details of the supply person to comply with Ofsted regulations (their CRB number, date of issue, address and date of birth).
 
·         Our recruitment staff are fully trained in safer recruitment having recently passed the NCSL Safer Recruitment Workshop delivered by Cornwall Council.
 
·         Our supply staff have been issued with photo ID cards which also includes their CRB number and date of issue.
 
·         Our CPD programme includes training for our supply staff on Child Protection delivered by Cornwall Council.
 
·         Continuous checking that staff have not had any gaps in employment for longer than three months. In such a case a new CRB check will be carried out before the member concerned is sent out to schools.
 
 
Ofsted Requirements
 
SupplyNet is very aware of the new Ofsted Inspection Framework and the implications for schools in respect of ‘Safeguarding’. We recently sent a letter out to schools detailing the comprehensive vetting checks carried out by our staff during the recruitment process, a copy of which can be downloaded for your Single Central Record. During a recent inspection at one of our partner schools documentation for safeguarding was judged as outstanding. This included our letter which was validated by Ofsted as good evidence that SupplyNet meets safer recruitment criteria.
